In no more than 5 words explain your ambitions:

I want to be normal.

Favourite place and why?

Home! Well, usually. Especially when Uncle’s not around. Or my stepmom and stepbrother. You know, I mostly just really like when it’s only Dad and me and my big sister, Marsi. Then it’s comfortable and safe because everything is familiar and the ghosts can’t get through the door.

Favourite weapon and why?

I’ve never really used a weapon and I definitely don’t know how to fight. Maybe Marsi is my favourite weapon? She always stands up for me. Oh, and there’s Bolt, my new dragon friend! Can a friend be a weapon? If so, then my favourite weapon is Bolt.

Favourite moment and why?

Definitely when I met my mentor, Tollar, and she told me I wasn’t crazy or a freak and that my magic could help people.

Most significant enemy and why?

I never really thought of myself as having enemies but I guess it has to be Uncle. He just won’t leave me or my sister alone. He’s the reason we had to run away.

Tell me about your childhood:

I’m still living it—I’m only twelve! It was really hard with the ghosts being scary and Marsi the only one believing me about them. I didn’t have any friends until I met Shirla and it’s only a little bit weird that she’s a ghost.

Where would you be now if you had made better choices?

Going with Marsi when she ran away was definitely a good choice! I don’t get to make a lot of my own choices because I’m a kid, but a lot of the choices adults have been making for me have not been very good ones. Things would be very bad for both of us if we had stuck around to let Uncle keep making choices for us.

Anything you’d like to say to your maker?

Thank you for sending me on this adventure! It opened up possibilities I never could have imagined.

Thank you for your time, please feel free to leave a parting statement:

Two things: 1) Being weird isn’t a bad thing. 2) Sisters need to stick together!
