Ask Anja on a date.
Favourite place and why?
There is this great Cajun crawfish place in Kemah. Can’t remember the name but it’s much better than the UH cafeteria. It’s not haunted. That’s a plus for me. We should eat there sometime.
I’m not really into weapons much. In my family, weapons are just tools. Plumbers use wrenches, the Unfrids of Toronto use machine guns, knives, and Glocks. But that’s not my thing. I haven’t joined the family business yet, and the truth is I don’t want to.
Probably that time when I almost kissed Anja. It was just about to happen, and then it didn’t. You should never hesitate. Wisdom is always built on stupid mistakes.
Is it too much to say my worst enemy is my spirit animal? Stupid bird. Sometimes it’s better to fail than suffer your greatest success.
These questions seem very invasive. I don’t remember agreeing to this interview at all. Is that why this place is so dark? To keep us from seeing the person questioning us?
I was often silent. I do not lie, so the only way to keep my visions to myself was not to speak of them. I grew up looking for someone who could understand that kind of life. I believe I found such a person in Anja.
Can you imagine what it is like to see what no one else can see, Daryl? Yes, DB Rook, despite the darkness you have kept me in I can see you. My sight does not rely on light. Your aura is a glow to me, and in it I can read your past, your hopes and ambitions. I see your drive to write stories and offer books to the masses. Your latest is called Callus and Crow? I wouldn’t write about crows if I were you. They’re selfish creatures!
Do not try to contain me here any longer Daryl, or I will give all your books 1 star ratings on Amazon, especially Callus and Crow.
There are no better choices. I could be in the arms of my lover right now, but I would have to consign another to her death. We must accept what is and take from it the moments of joy that fall to us between the tears.
Now you must make a better choice and release me, Daryl.
A crow? Really? Should have been a bear.
You should not have trifled with a Viking, Daryl. You will be seeing me in your dreams. And then I will be asking the questions.
